Formula Student: Driverless on the road to success
Electromobility is gaining more and more momentum thanks to technological and digital progress. This is proven by the annual Formula Student design competition.
After all races were cancelled across Europe in 2020, the FaSTTUBe team, which we support, took off in full force this season with the e-racing car they designed themselves. And with success: FaSTTUBe took second place in the Netherlands and scored high points in the Czech Republic, Hungary and at the Hockenheimring.
The highlight of this year’s competition was the new “Driverless Vehicles” group. The students designed racing cars with electric drive and autonomous functions for the first time – with impressive and forward-looking results.
The 2022 season will also be dominated by autonomous driving. Preparations are in full swing and we are eager to see the successes of the young engineers of tomorrow.
